About the Program
The online Bachelor of Science in Psychology at LeTourneau is based in the Christian faith, with the curriculum emphasizing the techniques of Christian counseling. This program prepares students to pursue a master’s degree or for employment in ministry, social work, counseling, or another related field.
Undergraduate psychology students must earn 126 credit hours to graduate. Of the requirements, 45 are from classes in the major, including:
- Personality Theory
- Social Psychology
- Physiological Psychology
- History & Systems of Psychology
- Theories & Techniques of Counseling
General education courses, which fulfill 59 credit hours, include, among others, four theological and biblical classes, English composition and literature courses and history, mathematics and philosophy courses. The 22 elective credits can come from any approved department, and students who want to add a concentration to their degree can focus their electives on marriage and family therapy or professional counseling.
LeTU uses the Blackboard learning management system to provide access to online and digital course materials. Through this LMS’s interface, students can view their courses, send emails, and participate on discussion boards. Each class has its own site within Blackboard, and the system allows teachers to upload syllabi, lectures, and assignments directly to their sites.
