The Department of Education, Rehabilitation, and Counseling in the College of Education at Auburn University in Alabama offers a Counseling Psychology Ph.D. that is built on the scientist-practitioner model of learning, emphasizing the integration of science and practice.
The applicants must at least hold a bachelor’s degree to be considered for the Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program. The program typically requires 5 years to complete, including 1 full-year of pre-doctoral internship. Students who enter the program without an undergraduate degree will take longer to complete.
The program only accepts 8 to 10 students each year. The application deadline is December 1st for courses beginning the following fall.
